Invalid Sim Error after IOS 10.0.2 on iPhone 6s plus

I am getting an Invalid Sim error after updating to ios 10.0.2 on my iPhone 6s plus. Basically I followed what Apple had suggested to address this issues that might have worked with their older versions of iOS. I somehow found a temporary solution and so I am looking for a permanent one if there is one out there. Things I did so far:

1. Removing the sim tray and putting it back after 10 seconds did not work.

2. Replaced the sim card with same carrier and yep not working either.

3. Did a reset with the network settings. It worked! Yeah, until my battery died and back to the same issue.

4. Normal reboot worked for 10 seconds and back to the same error afterwhich.

5. Did a hard reboot/reset (Home button+powe/sleep) works like a charm at couple tries.

6. Did a clean restore via i-tunes, guess what it did not fix it at all.

Conclusion: If it works, never run out of battery. Oh please if there is a perma-solution out there, do tell.
